IMAP mailbox
Incoming mail lands on the contact's timeline, threaded.
Built inPart of the product. There is nothing to install, only to configure.
Any IMAP mailbox can be connected. Incoming mail files itself against the sender's contact and lands on their timeline; outgoing mail shares the same table, told apart by direction. The password is encrypted with AES-256-GCM keyed from the server secret, because it has to be replayed to the mail server — rotating that secret means re-entering it.
What it needs
- IMAP host, port, username, passwordrequired
Gmail and Microsoft 365 need an app password.
Connecting it
- 1Settings → Mailboxes: enter the server and the credentials.
- 2Sync runs every five minutes; the first run starts from the mailbox's current state.
- 3A message whose sender is not a contact stays in the mailbox view until you assign it.
